Physical, mental verbal abuse and violence negatively affect the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health and well-being children, families, youth, adults, animals, pets or for Planet Earth and all its living systems and creatures.
Violence creates more violence. Words have meaning. Actions have consequences. Violence destroys. Compassion and empathy are deep strengths. Extremist religion is often full of hatred and fear. Spirituality seeks peaceful resolution of conflict. Peace seeks to understand and heal.
The ambitions and greed of power over others corrupts the human spirit. Power with recognizes and honors the valid will, rights to self-determination and sacredness of self and others to have power to. Thoughtful, conscious, aware humans can (and must) develop peace, compassion, empathy from within and practice it moment by moment...

Peace is a daily way of living life within self and with each person one encounters -- with each and every being, creature and living thing one encounters. If your god keeps his/her eyes on the sparrow, does not every earthly creature matter as preciously?
